About BridgeLookup.com
BridgeLookup.com makes it easy to find and understand bridge condition information for any location in the United States. Our data comes from the National Bridge Inventory (NBI), maintained by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Data Source
The NBI contains information on more than 620,000 highway bridges across the United States. Each bridge record includes condition ratings, physical characteristics, traffic data, ownership information, and inspection history. The data is updated annually by state departments of transportation.
Why Bridge Conditions Matter
Bridges are critical infrastructure that millions of Americans cross every day. Understanding which bridges near you are in poor condition helps communities advocate for maintenance funding and helps individuals make informed decisions about their daily routes.
Disclaimer
This site is for informational purposes only. Bridge condition data comes from the NBI and may not reflect the most current conditions. A "poor" rating does not mean a bridge is unsafe — it means the bridge has been flagged for maintenance or replacement. Bridges that are truly unsafe are closed to traffic. For official bridge safety information, contact your state department of transportation.
